Sponsors/Associates
APRES VELO
I am really pleased to have Apres Velo on board as my Aussie clothing sponsor. Apres Velo stock a fantastic casual range of alternative and slighlty off beat shirts and sweatshirts.
Finally a company has arrived that understand the need for cool/trendy off the saddle casual riding wear. You can still ‘live the riding dream’ without having to wear tight uncomfortable lycra for hours on end…
This gear is perfect for lounging round cafes pre or post riding/racing. It’s also well suited for general use at races, on the trails, at the bike stores, or just wondering around town or out amongst nature…
Apres Velo cater to practically every riding style under the sun; the roadie, mountain biker, the street hacker, commuter, even the single speeder will find something they like here. What makes Apres Velo even more unique is the fact that the clothes and accessories are designed and made by people who are totally passionate about bikes and the ‘biking culture’. Coming from a strong mountain biking and roadie background, they understand the needs of the biker mindset! They also do a very funky range of prints and caps, with more accessories/new clothing planned for 2009.
Check out their range and cool website at: www.apresvelo.com or have a look back here in the next few months on the gallery page, as I sample their stylish women’s range (yes, women’s cycle clothing that not only looks good, it fits properly as well)…and another thing - they make a point of using beautiful fabrics that have been specially washed to give it that aged and comfy feeling.

I now have TORQ on board as a sponsor for performance nutrition products. There are just too many good things to say about TORQ products – I LOVE THEM, they massively boost performance and I know from my own experiences using these products that they are in a league of their own.
What makes them so good?
They refuse to use ingredients that are not derived from a NATURAL source, or don’t naturally occur within the human body
They cater for vegans/vegetarians and people with intolerances to food
They do a great range of organic products
They are extremely tasty
They cater to every type of cyclist (the mountain biker, downhiller, 24 hour racers, roadie and triathletes).

WHITSON ENTERPRISES
My family has been practically the biggest driving force behind my racing since I first started at the age of 21. They have always encouraged me, and have given 'constructive criticism’ when necessary, as well as been patient spectators/feeders at various races! A lot of my success in cycling so far would not have come into fruition without their help.

MASON'S DOG OIL
I first discovered this amazing massage oil a year ago while living in Scotland. What appealed to me the most is the fact that Mason’s Dog Oil is derived from completely natural ingredients (blend of vegetable and mineral oils), it is odour free/colour free and doesn’t irritate the skin at all. It also comes in a very handy size tub that is easy to pack away for weekends of racing and training.
The Mason’s have been making Dog Oil in England since at least 1920 and it is a secret that has been handed down through the generations from "Owd Bob", pet shop owner of Dukinfield, Cheshire, to the present manufacturers, Mason's Products, Littleborough, Lancashire.

ANANDA YOGA GROUP
Emilia Cole and Ananda Yoga – Ananda yoga provides excellent core strength to the body and is making a big difference to my cycling performance - both physically and mentally. Ananda yoga is often described as a spiritual yoga as it works to develop calmness of the mind through the yoga positions, which in turn builds strength along the abdomen, arms, legs, shoulders and back.
If you’re an athlete competing at any level and you feel that your mental game could do with a lift I would highly recommend Ananda yoga with Emilia or even just for anyone wanting to stretch the mind and the body a little.
Emilia has been practicing Ananda yoga for 25 years, which has involved travelling around the world meeting prominent teachers (Tibetian and Indian) from which she has learned the physical and meditational disciplines of yoga. Emilia teaches yoga 3 times a week and her classes cater for all levels – beginner through to advanced. There is also a chance for a 10 minute meditation at the end if you want to zone out for a while.

QUEEN MARGARET COLLEGE/OLD GIRLS ASSOCIATION
I am extremely proud to be an Old Girl of Queen Margaret College. The school was established in 1919 with the motto 'By the light of truth' and is still going from strength to strength each year. I feel really fortunate to have had an education at a school that makes sure it can pull out your highest potential, while forming life-long friends that after 15 years are still some of my closest to date.
It also means a lot to have the support of the Old Girls Assocation as well as being able to act as ambassordor for the School. It was a real privelidge to be asked to act as a flag bearer in the Old Girls Assembly for my old house, 'Glamis', and I hope I can go back to more events next time I am back in New Zealand.
