QUEEN MARGARET COLLEGE OLD GIRLS' ASSEMBLY - Friday 6th June
A few weeks ago I was able to take part in the Queen Margaret College Old Girls' Assembly. The school holds this assembly to honour and acknowledge the girls that have already passed through the school, as well as commerating the girls that are still there, and it really is a special day to be part of for everyone.
There was a great sense of nostalgia for me, walking through the school grounds, looking at my old classrooms and singing the school song. It brought back many fond memories of my time there, and it also reminded me of the strong friendships I have formed through Queen Margaret College; whom I am still very close to today.
I felt really privileged to be asked to be a flag bearer in the assembly for my old house, 'Glamis', and was impressed to see that 'Glamis' is now sitting second over all on the points table (nice work girls). I gave the head girls of the house some encouraging words to try and get to number one - fingers' crossed!
There was also a moving speech by Annabelle Tye (Former President of the Queen Margaret College Old Girls' Association), as well as a great musical number from the junior school, who always look so smart and adorable.
As an old girl of Queen Margaret College, I feel that we are very lucky to have such an active Old Girls' Association. It was a great experince to be part of the Assembly and hope I can attend another one next time I am home in NZ.
